Travel to Christmas Meeting 2019

Pdf version

Meeting Location: Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL

A page with general information about visiting the campus is at https://warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/

Additional Tips:

Don't go to Warwick station - it's a long way from the University!

Typical ways of reaching the University are by coach to Pool Meadow Bus Station in central Coventry. Or by train to Coventry station. From the bus station get either an 11 or a 12X (much quicker) - see below.

Under link 'Directions' there are details for the various modes of arrival on the campus. Arriving by train at Coventry station there is a direct service (12X), taking 10-15mins, in addition to the No.11 service (heading for Leamington Spa via the University), taking 20-25 mins. Note the path to the railway bridge is closed and the buses come into the station precinct (stop E3).  Both those services require correct fare for cash (single £2.20, return £4.00), but they also take contactless card payments. That is, the driver is unable to give change if you only offer a £5 note.

Under the 'Campus Maps' link we recommend the first option Campus Map followed by Central Campus. With only a little scrolling - depending on your screen size - you should be able to get both the Bus Interchange and Computer Science on the same screen. The walk between them takes 5 - 10 minutes and there are obvious step-free routes.

By car, the directions 'By Car' should help you find the Central Campus. The nearest car parks for Computer Science are around the Physics building and marked by white rectangles or 'quadrants' - not necessarily with a 'P'. This ground-level parking and should be fairly quiet. There are no charges for parking over the weekend.

Note there is no road outside the front of our building, only a path. Access is gained by the front door which faces the small lake and the building marked IDL on the map.

For any questions or further detail (such as wheelchair access), contact the local organiser Steve Russ (s.b.russ@warwick.ac.uk).
